MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour” host Brian Williams said Thursday that it was “impossible” to listen to the eulogies at George H.W. Bush’s funeral and not see it as a “comparison” to President Donald Trump. “When the reading started it is said he did not participate in the service at all. Then there was, just his–the way he carried himself while seated,” Brian Williams said, describing Trump’s behavior at the funeral service for George H.W. Bush at the National Cathedral in Washington this week. “His hands together, he was rocking at one point,” Williams continued. “It was impossible to listen to the eulogies and not take some of it as a kind of comparison to the sitting president. It was not intended that way, I’m certain. But what–people thought he looked petulant. People thought he looked angry at the content of the eulogies.” This shot at the President comes as many in the establishm...

The deeds that George HW Bush are carved into the "granite of history" former Secretary of State James Baker said as Texas said goodbye to one of its most famous residents. A day after thousands of Americans and every living president mourned the death of Mr Bush at the National Cathedral in Washington, friends and family were given a chance to pay their final respects to the former president. More than 1,000 mourners sang “America the Beautiful” at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, where the 41st commander in chief, who died last week in Texas at age 94, worshipped for over 50 years.

The late George H.W. Bush had a peaceful send-off, People is reporting. Reverend Dr. Russell Levenson Jr., Bush’s long-time pastor, recounted the former president’s passing during an emotional eulogy at a state funeral in the National Cathedral on December 5. Bush was noticeably fading on November 30, prompting his best friend and former Secretary of State James Baker III to return with his wife to Bush’s side at his home in Houston for the third time that day. There, Baker rubbed Bush’s feet “for perhaps half an hour. ...

Donald Trump crossed paths with Bill and Hillary Clinton for the first time since his Inauguration Day, and it went about as well as everyone probably expected. President Trump sat in the same row as past presidents at the funeral of George H.W. Bush on Wednesday, and video from the Guardian caught what appeared to be a tense moment between him and the couple he frequently assails on social media. As Trump made his way to the pew at the National Cathedral, he stopped to shake hands with Barack and Michelle Obama while Jimmy Carter gave him a nod from down the row.

President Donald Trump joined the group of living ex-U.S. presidents on Wednesday to commemorate the life of former President George H. W. Bush, but in a service characterized by emotion and good feeling, warmth between the current and former occupants of the White House was decidedly absent. Trump shook hands awkwardly with his predecessor, Barack Obama, and former first lady Michelle Obama as he took his place in the front row of the service at the Washington National Cathedral. Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, nodded but did not smile as the one-time New York businessman and his wife, Melania, joined the group that included former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn.

At the funeral service for George H.W. Bush, current President Donald Trump made no effort to greet President Jimmy Carter, now at 94, the oldest living United States President. As Trump and his wife arrived to sit in the “President’s Club” pew at the Washington National Cathedral, Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn looked straight ahead. The reception for First Lady Melania was lukewarm, but the chilly lack of a greeting for Donald Trump was palpable, reports USA Today.

Things were going fine as all the living former presidents and their spouses gathered at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., for the funeral of former president George H.W. Bush. But when our current president arrived things got awkward fast. As President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump took their places in the first row of the cathedral, they were greeted with light smiles and handshakes from Barack and Michelle Obama, a genial greeting in an otherwise frosty relationship. The Trumps' arrival also got a head turn from former president Bill Clinton, but Hillary Clinton, Trump's rival in the 2016 presidential campaign and a even still recipient of many Trump's attacks, threw a little side-eye and then completely ignored the Trumps. The nation's capital bids its final farewell to the late former President George HW Bush on Wednesday in a service of prayer and praise that is drawing together world envoys, Americans of high office and five current and former presidents. A ceremony at Washington National Cathedral, the nexus of state funerals, caps three days of remembrance by dignitaries and ordinary citizens as they honored the Republican president who oversaw the post-Cold War transition and led a successful Gulf War, only to lose re-election in a generational shift to Democrat Bill Clinton in 1992. The four living ex-presidents are present - among them, George W Bush will eulogise his father - and President Donald Trump will attend but is not scheduled to speak. Also attending: Prince Charles on behalf of the Queen, King Abdulla and Queen Rania of Jordan, Germany's chancellor Angela Merkel and Poland's president Andrzej Duda, among representatives of more than a dozen countries.
