A self-lubricating latex condom is being developed by scientists that becomes slippery when wet and can remain so for 1,000 thrusts. The researchers report that typical intercourse consists of 100 to 500 thrusts (huh). BBC: It is thanks to a special, durable coating that should last throughout intercourse, says the team, backed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has died at the age of 65.  Mr Allen, who suffered from non-Hodgkin lymphoma, co-founded the software company alongside Bill Gates in 1975.  He was also a prominent philanthropist, donating billions to science, conservation and the arts.  Eight years after starting the company he received his first cancer diagnosis, but it was treated successfully, though it forced him to retire early from his role at Microsoft.  He developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2009, which had been in remission until it returned earlier this year.  In a statement released at the start of this month Mr Allen said he planned to fight the disease "aggressively".  “A lot has happened in medicine since I overcame this disease in 2009. My doctors are optimistic that I will see good results from the latest therapies, as am I," he said.  On Monday his sister Jody Allen called him a "remarkable individual on every level".  "While most knew Paul Allen a...

"It's fine to celebrate success, but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure." – Bill Gates Face it: None of us like to admit we’re wrong. I’ve been a sports official for over 30 years, working every level from peewee football to college baseball and football. Over those years, I’ve literally made thousands of game-impacting decisions, with probably 98% of them being correct. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you study the rules, review game film and hustle on the field to get in position, even the most competent officials make mistakes. Thankfully, because of instant replay, many of the most egregious errors are corrected with a simple phrase: “After further review …” As business
